2009 Dream Home Gold Award
Best Interior Design for a Home 5,001-6,000 SF

Sophisticated Simplicity

Collective Construction & Design, Inc. (CCD) in Plantation receives the “Best Interior Design for a Home 5,001-6,000-sq. ft.”

Eloise Kubli, ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), president of Collective Construction & Design, Inc. (CCD) in Plantation, is pleased to announce that the firm is the recipient of the “Best Interior Design for a Home 5,001-6,000-sq. ft.” 2009 Dream Home Gold Award. The nationally acclaimed awards program recognizes companies and individuals who assist in creating America’s dream homes and set new standards of excellence in the nation’s building industry. CCD was the only firm in South Florida to win a Dream Home Award.

CCD’s winning entry is titled “Sophisticated Simplicity,” and was created in conjunction with Studio K Architects and Robinette Homes. The home, located in Plantation’s luxurious Hawk’s Landing, is stylized to be reminiscent of both classic Palm Beach homes and the exotic architecture of Moroccan design. It is designed with individual spaces for privacy, yet is open to entertain a large number of guests, and features a courtyard that lives like the interior. The scope of design included space planning, plan review, specification of all interior and exterior finishes, new and existing lighting, furniture placement, pool design and wall finishes.

The Dream Home Award is the second award that CCD has won in the past six month. The firm also recently won the esteemed “ASID Design Excellence Award 2008, Residential Traditional over 5,000 sq. ft.,” in which professional peers from ASID are the judges. The entry, a home also located in Hawk’s Landing, was designed to reflect traditional values, casual elegance and references to the owners’ Italian heritage. It features richly embellished wood carved furniture, layered silk draperies, hand-trowled faux finished walls, and a dramatic courtyard/pool.

Founded in 1983, CCD specializes in custom interior design and provides general contractor and construction management in high-end residential and commercial projects. Since its inception, the firm has completed over 250 design and construction projects in Florida, Colorado, Connecticut, North Carolina, Texas, Canada and the British West Indies.

“We’re extremely honored to have won the Dream Home Award, as well as the ASID Design Excellence Award,” said Kubli, a nationally recognized professional in the fields of interior design, furniture design and fabric design. “For the Dream Home Award, there were over 33 entries in some of the categories – we are thrilled to have been chosen as the best in the country in this category.”

The Dream Home Awards competition is open to interior designers, architects, builders, remodelers, communities and trade contractors. Firms are invited to enter from across all 50 states to compete in custom home products, interior design, commercial and mixed-use projects as well as the prestigious Community of the Year, Home of the Year, and Community Service of the Year categories. The Dream Home Awards also recognizes individual trades for unique products and services assisting the building process.

Entries, which were required to have been built or marketed between Jan. 1, 2006 – Dec. 31, 2008, were judged based on overall exterior and interior architectural appeal, creative use of interior space and functionality of floor plan in relation to the specified target market and continuity with the marketing program. Judges were builders, developers, architects, interior designers and/or marketing professionals.

Winners of the 2009 Dream Home Awards were published in the Weekend Section of the Wall Street Journal’s May 1 edition.
