After completing an upgrade of the hotel's guestrooms, Mulrey and his team— design firm Gensler and owner Thayer Lodging Group—put their heads together to coordinate their goals for the hotel's public spaces. It was basically a think tank where we all asked exactly what do we want to accomplish here? What do we want the end result to look like? We realized the lobby and public spaces needed to be totally redesigned in order to maximize use of the space and meet the needs of our guest," he said.
Gensler brought a more modern look to the lobby with a bold palette that incorporated a broad range of colors, including orange, red, lime green and blue. Intimate seating areas now feature sleek and contemporary furniture such as a semi-circular sofa, high-backed leather chairs and round tables that all encourage guests to relax and mingle. continued…
