BEHIND THE SCENES
Great design is about more than the finished space—it’s the craftsmanship, planning, and collaboration that happen long before the final reveal. This project brought together skilled artisans, custom fabrication, and meticulous attention to detail to create a one-of-a-kind wine cave that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
From the earliest stages of construction to the installation of handcrafted finishes, every element was thoughtfully considered to ensure the finished space reflected the client’s vision while celebrating the artistry behind the work.
VIEW PROJECT
Construction Phase
The wine cave began as an unfinished shell, allowing every architectural detail to be carefully planned and integrated throughout the construction process.
A Unique Installation
Located on the second floor, the space featured custom furniture, cabinetry, and specialty materials that had to be carefully transported through the arched window before the room could be completed—a logistical challenge that required thoughtful planning and coordination.
Handcrafted Leaded Glass
Each leaded-glass window was custom-designed and handcrafted by artisan McMow, transforming the windows into architectural focal points rather than decorative accents. Inspired by the surrounding vineyard landscape, every piece of colored glass was individually selected, cut, and assembled to create a richly layered composition that rewards close inspection. The completed leaded-glass windows bring warmth, color, and artistry to the wine cave, making them one of the defining features of the space.
Illuminated Onyx Bar
A dramatic backlit onyx slab bar top serves as the centerpiece of the wine cave. When illuminated, the natural translucence of the stone reveals its unique veining and warm amber tones, creating an inviting focal point for entertaining. Custom display shelving and statement gold leaf lamps complete the composition, blending luxury with functional design.
Natural Stone Basin
The powder bath pairs handcrafted materials with timeless design. A sculptural natural stone vessel sink is complemented by a wall-mounted bronze faucet, while antique brass and copper tile create a rich backdrop that adds warmth, texture, and depth. Together, the carefully selected materials transform a functional space into a refined design statement.
Custom Furnishings
Every furnishing was individually selected or custom-crafted, including pieces by Ebanista, creating a cohesive environment where architecture, furnishings, lighting, and finishes work together seamlessly.
